Larry Rabin, Director of Corporate Realty's Retail Division, has developed a reputation and expertise in the selling and leasing of retail properties.
Larry began his commercial real estate career in 1985 based on a background of fifteen years as a retailer, owner, manager and buyer for a chain of women's apparel stores in the New Orleans area. Consequently, Larry has acquired a definite feel, not only from a retailer's point of view, but from a retail broker's view on the positive and negatives of location, design, and the value of lease negotiation to the retailer and landlord.
Larry's experience and success revolves around the wide variety of landlord and tenant representation including the exclusive representation in the Louisiana market of such nationally recognized retailers as Lowe’s, Pep Boys, PETsMART, Best Buy, Linens-N-Things, OfficeMax, Rite Aid Drugs, Applebee's Restaurants, and Blockbuster Video. Larry's expertise has also been felt on a national basis. Pep Boys enlisted Larry's services to do the market study and site selections in not only the New Orleans area, but also in Chicago, Alabama, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Michigan and Indiana. Larry was also chosen by Exxon Company USA to represent them in the disposition of thirty of their excess properties in Southeastern Louisiana.
In the past sixteen years, he has leased over 2,000,000 square feet of retail space and has sold numerous parcels of property for retail use.
Larry is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has been successful working and developing contacts within that organization. He is also the contact person for ChainLinks, a national retail brokers referral network.
As a member of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors, Inc., Larry has received for the past four (4) years the Commercial Investment Division's top retail award for the highest volume of sales and leases. Also, he was the runner-up in 1990, 1992, 1999 & 2000 for the Poche Waguespack Award for the highest dollar volume of commercial leases and sales in the New Orleans area.
