It is often said that Mike Siegel is involved in the most complex commercial real estate transactions in the New Orleans market. With almost 20 years of specialization in office leasing and office brokerage, he has been instrumental in the growth and maturation of the New Orleans office market. He understands the market and has a depth of knowledge that benefits clients at all times, but especially on the most complicated deals.
Mike's major lease negotiations include Hibernia National Bank (75,000 sf), Entergy (165,000 sf), BellSouth Telecommunications (125,000 sf), Travelers Insurance (34,000 sf), ARCO (152,000 sf), Phelps Dunbar Law Firm (93,120 sf), Citizens Utilities (43,000 sf), International Shipholding (43,000 sf), Tidewater Marine (38?,000 sf), Locke Liddell & Sapp (30,000 sf) and his recent representation of the State of Louisiana in a lease for over 180,000 square feet. Mike's major investment transactions include the sale of the Galleria in Metairie on behalf of Lennar Partners ($32 million), the sale of One American Place in Baton Rouge on behalf of Prudential ($28 million) and the acquisition of the 2026 St. Charles Avenue Building by Tom Bauer ($2 million). His present disposition assignments include a 117,000 sf office building in Lafayette for Lennar Partners; two (2) office buildings in Elmwood (New Orleans) for a regional investor; and the $9.0 million, 99,000 sf Bank One Operations Center in Harahan, Louisiana for Bank One.
Mike is a graduate of Tulane University. He is also very active in leadership positions in local professional and community organizations. Currently, he is an Emeritus board member and a three time President of the Board of Directors of the Contemporary Arts Center, a board member of Metairie Park Country Day School and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Mike is also a former board member of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, the Louisiana Children's Museum and the NO/AIDS Task Force Advisory Committee. He is also an active participant in various real estate organizations including Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and The Urban Land Institute.
